Editorial policy

Our guides answer the questions clients ask the desk. This page states how they are sourced, written, reviewed and kept current.

Sources

Every figure, threshold and date in a guide comes from a primary source: the regulator (VARA, the Central Bank of the UAE), the official UAE government portal, or our own published pricing and procedures. Blogs and aggregators are not sources. Where a number cannot be verified, we write the rule without the number and mark it for verification rather than fill the gap with a plausible figure.

Time-sensitive claims carry an "as of" date, and every guide lists its sources with the date they were accessed.

How guides are written

Guides are written by Omar Al Nuaimi, Head of Dealing, who uses AI-assisted tools for structure and language. Those tools do not publish anything on their own. Before a guide goes live it passes an automated check: every source must be a primary one (a regulator, a government portal, a standard-setter or a network's own documentation), the text must not duplicate another guide, and an unverified figure left in the text blocks publication. It is then reviewed by Sarah Whitfield, Senior Dealer. The author and the reviewer are named on every guide. Corrections are logged on the corrections page, and any reader can report an error there.

Review

Each guide is reviewed before publication by Sarah Whitfield, Senior Dealer, and her name appears in the byline of every guide next to the author's. The author, Omar Al Nuaimi, is Head of Dealing and a Responsible Individual on our VARA licence; his credentials are on his author page. A guide is not published without both names on it.

Updates and corrections

A guide is updated when a rule, rate or process it describes changes, or when it is older than six months. The "Last updated" date changes only when the content changes. Factual errors are corrected publicly and logged on the corrections page.

Independence

We sell one service, and the guides point to it — that link is stated in the open. No guide accepts payment, placement or approval from any third party, and we do not review or rank providers we have a financial relationship with, other than ourselves, clearly disclosed. See how we make money.
