How to check it is really us
A common scam around Dubai OTC desks is to copy a real desk: a Telegram account with its name, a website one letter off, a deposit address sent in a chat. This page lists the only channels we use and the things we never do, so you can check before you send anything.
Our official channels
We deal with clients only through these:
- Website: iwgt.ae (since 1 October 2026; see the note on our former address below)
- Client portal: portal.iwgt.ae. Signing in always happens there, never on another site.
- Email: only from addresses ending in @iwgt.ae. The desk writes from [email protected].
- Telegram: @iwgt_otc
Type the address yourself or use a bookmark, rather than following a link from a message or an advert.
Then check the domain letter by letter. Look-alike addresses differ by one character or an added word, for example iwgt.com, iwgt-ae.com, lwgt.ae or iwgt-desk.ae. None of these are ours.
Our former address
Until 30 September 2026 this desk operated as Meridian OTC at meridian-otc.com, with the client portal at portal.meridian-otc.com and email at @meridian-otc.com. We no longer control that domain.
Any page that opens at the old address, and any email from it, dated after 30 September 2026 is not from us. Do not sign in there and do not act on instructions received from it. Your account, requests and documents are unchanged and live at portal.iwgt.ae.
What we never do
- Message you first on Telegram or WhatsApp to offer a rate.
- Send a deposit address in a chat, in an email attachment or by phone. Deposit instructions appear only inside the portal, on your request page. The portal also emails you a notice, and that notice points you back to the portal.
- Ask for your seed phrase, private keys, 2FA codes or passwords.
- Ask you to move funds to a "safe" wallet.
- Pay out to anyone except an account in your own name.
- Take cash.
- Change our bank details by email.
If someone using our name does any of these, it is not us.
Before you send funds
-
01
Open the request in the portal
Sign in at portal.iwgt.ae, open your request page and compare the deposit address there with the one you are about to use.
-
02
Send a small test first, if you like
If you prefer, send a small amount first, then the rest.
-
03
If anything differs, stop
Do not send. Write to [email protected] first.
If you think an impersonator contacted you
- Do not send anything.
- Keep the messages, including usernames, links and any addresses you were sent.
- Write to the desk at [email protected].
- Report the account to Telegram.
- If money was lost, report it immediately to Dubai Police through the eCrime platform at ecrime.ae, and to your bank.
Not sure about a message?
Forward it to the desk before you act on it.
